Bio do Autor

Christopher Nealon ensina literatura norte-americana, teoria estética e história da poesia e da sexualidade na Johns Hopkins University. Entre 1996 e 2008, esteve também associado à UC Berkeley. Enquanto investigador, tem explorado a relação entre literatura e capitalismo, percurso que se reflete nos seus dois livros de crítica literária: The Matter of Capital: Poetry and Crisis in the American Century (Harvard, 2011) e Foundlings: Lesbian and Gay Historical Emotion before Stonewall (Duke, 2001). Escreveu igualmente a introdução de Sexual Hegemony: Statecraft, Sodomy, and Capital in The Rise of The World System (2020), de Christopher Chitty, e co-editou, com Colleen Lye, o volume crítico After Marx: Literature, Theory, and Value in the Twenty-First Century (Cambridge UP, 2022). Além da sua produção teórica, é autor de quatro livros de poesia, entre eles The Joyous Age (Black Square Editions, 2004) e The Shore (Wave, 2020).
